SmartRG SR505N - VDSL Routed Mode Configuration

INSTRUCTIONS

1)
Physically setup the modem.

  • Connect the supplied grey phone cord from an active phone jack in your home to the matching grey port on the back of your Smart RG modem.
  • Connect the supplied yellow Ethernet cord from your computer to one of the four matching yellow ports on the back of your Smart RG modem.
  • Connect the power adapter to the power port on the back of your Smart RG modem.
  • The lights on the front of the modem should now come on. If they have not turned on press the white power switch located at the bottom right on the back side of the modem.

2) Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and go to the address http://192.168.1.1

3) Click on "Manage gateway (advanced)"

4) You will now be prompted for your username and password. By default these are as follows:
Username: user
Password: user

5) Click on "Advanced Setup"

6) Select “WAN Service” and click on the "Edit" button next to ppp0.1

7) Enter your RutexNet's username (don't forget the "@securepppoe.ca" part) and password [Please note that
the username and password are CASE-SENSITIVE, so lower-case and capital letters matter],
scroll all the way down and click on "Next", "Next", "Next" and "Apply/Save"
